Engaging Fans: Designing an Interactive Raffle Webapp for BVB,
GLS, and BACE Collaboration
As part of my work with THE ARC agency and startup BACE, I led the design of an exciting web application for the Borrusia Dortmund (BVB). This website challenged users to solve emoji-based puzzles. Winners could snag cool prizes hidden in the BACE Hub at Signal Iduna Stadion.
The problem
The football team Borussia Dortmund wanted to promote their collaboration with GLS. For that we decided to create a raffle where their fans could win some goodies and pick them up at our BACE Hub. It was a very fast-paced project so the idea had to be simple and easy to implement but still engaging.
The goals
Explain the collaboration between BVB x GLS x BACE and the benefits this will have for the BVB fans.
Leverage the webapp to gather user feedback, in order to refine subsequent iterations of the BACE products.
The solution
We crafted a user-friendly web app where fans decoded emoji clues to reveal football player identities. Prizes awaited successful solvers, accessible through our app to unlock goodies stashed in the BACE hub. It's a blend of digital fun and real-world rewards at Signal Iduna Stadion.
Target Group
BVB Borussia Fans
The target group for our web app comprises avid BVB fans, ranging from devoted followers to casual supporters seeking interactive engagement.
We also aim to attract individuals intrigued by digital puzzles and
innovative experiences.
Persona
Young people between 15-35 years old who are interested in football and technology and support the Borussia Dortmund club.

UI Design
The UI Design for this Webapp should be kept simple yet interesting,
Wohlbefinder's design is intended to radiate openness, trustworthiness and closeness and to be inviting and helpful.
The colours convey serenity and yet have an inviting effect. In addition, illustrations of people and organic motifs such as plants and flowers were included to make the website more personal and also because the use of photographies in the context of mental health often promotes stigmatisation.

TAKEAWAYS
TAKEAWAYS
We had to simplify all our initial ideas a lot, as we couldn’t connect the phones to the hub directly yet because of hardware reasons.
It was fun to create a digital product which brought together a real-life campaign and experience, a hardware product and a digital solution.
